Liz McDonald is to become the new land lady at the Rover�s Return on Coronation Street and actress Bev Callard couldn�t be more delighted.
The 47-year old was surprised to hear Liz had been chosen to take over behind the bar.
She said to the Mirror: �It�s such an honour - but it�s still sinking in. I only got told I was going to be the next land lady on Friday.
�We were rehearsing when someone from the press office rang to say the Mirror had found out Liz was taking over.
�I said �oh�, and she was like �Oh, sorry didn�t you know?� I didn�t have a clue.�
However, Callard has a bit of an inkling what to expect as she runs a pub off screen with her partner Jon McEwan.
Talk about art imitating life�
