As Katie Holmes gears up to give birth to Tom Cruise�s baby, it is being revealed what his ex-wife Nicole Kidman had to put up with.

Ok, she managed to carve out a pretty successful film career off the back of their marriage but she also had to hire private detectives to ensure Cruise was not tapping her phones during their divorce.

According to Page Six, Cruise had his private eye Anthony Pellicano tapping Kidman�s phones during 2001, the year of their divorce.

However, Kidman is no dumb blonde, she hired her won detective Richie Di Sabatino who told Page Six: "We swept her phones and put on an encryption device, so she couldn't be wiretapped . . . We tried to keep one step ahead."

A friend told the paper: "During her divorce, she would talk to friends on the phone and every couple of minutes break into the conversation and say, 'So, Tom, are you listening,' or 'Am I saying what you want me to say, Tom?' She knew he was either tapping her phone or trying to. She was no dummy. She not only knew about it but taunted Tom."

Well, sounds like he probably deserved it.
