Embrace have been confirmed to sing Englands 2006 World Cup anthem.

The Huddersfield warblers will record the track World At Your Feet for the Summer tournament.

An ecstatic Danny McNamara said: The band cant wait to get into the studio and record the track.

We think weve got a really good song and hope it will repeat the success of previous songs such as New Orders World In Motion.

Other names that were circling round to record the anthem were Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs and the Arctic Monkeys.

Football Association marketing manager Tom Harold said: The official England World Cup song has become something of an institution and it is really important that we have an original and exciting track. (Surely youve got the wrong band mate?)

Were confident that Embraces song will capture the imagination of the fans and players alike.

With only 75 days to go until Englands first game against Paraguay everybody has beeen asking who will get the gig.

Wed like to think weve pulled off something of a coup by bagging such a great band and keeping it secret until now.
