New Zealand chart-topper Lorde has deleted a series of tweets directed at the controversial Westboro Baptist Church, who had announced plans to protest at her Kansas gig on Friday night.
The Church, who are notorious for their verbal abuse against gay people, have turned their attention towards Lorde, announcing on their website they they plan to picket outside the singer's concert in Missouri, Kansas on Friday.
Lorde laughed off the plans on her Twitter page though, urging her fans to use their own form of protest against church members.
"hahaha omg just found out westboro baptist church are going to picket my show in kansas city", the 17-year-old tweeted, adding: "everyone wear rainbow clothing to that show".

Her last tweet read: "everyone try to kiss church members who are same sex as you they will so love it christmas comin early in kansas city".
The teen has since deleted her tweets though, perhaps under pressure from her management.
Lorde is an outspoken supporter of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. She previously slammed a radio show host who questioned the star's close friendship with Taylor Swift saying that they were “Ellen” together.
The singer quipped back: “Is there something wrong with lesbians? Is that what you’re trying to say?”
