US audiences were gutted last night to watch Jay Leno host his final ever ‘Tonight Show’ after 22-years of providing laughs and the best celebrity interviews, the legendary host has called it a day.
However before he left US screens he parted with a hilarious finale monologue and the star of the night didn’t hold back at all, as he let rip on disgraced stars O.J. Simpson, Justin Bieber and Hugh Grant.
“So much has happened in the last 22 years,” the 63-year-old recalled. "You know the saddest part of all: O.J. never found the real killers." Ouch!
But he didn’t stop there, joining in on the onslaught of celebs who have been queuing in their masses to poke fun of 19-year-old the Biebs, Jay explained: "When I started hosting, Justin Bieber wasn't even been born yet,” before he dropped: "That's why we call those ‘the good old days.'"
Finally, reflecting on the recent revelations regarding Hugh Grant’s family life, the silver fox joked: "I thought this was interesting. It was revealed this week that in the past couple years Hugh Grant has fathered 3 children with 2 different women," he told the audience.
"How ironic is that. I end my run the same way it began - asking Hugh Grant "What the hell were you thinking?" 22 years later, I ask him the same question."
During last night’s farewell show, Jay was joined by a whole host of celebrity guests including Billy Crystal, Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian who screeched her way through an awkward rendition of the Sound Of Music themed Farewell Song.
Jimmy Fallon is set to take over the slot from February 17 live from New York.
