American star Courteney Cox has revealed she would like her ex-husband David Arquette to be “happy”.
The showbiz couple, who met on the set of Scream in 1996 and got hitched in June 1999, reportedly both requested joint legal and physical custody of their nine-year-old daughter, Coco.
''When you love someone, you want them to be happy, even if it's not with you,” she told the US edition of More magazine. ''In divorce you always have regrets. We were married for a long time, so it's not like we didn't try.''

The 46-year-old, who is reportedly dating British rocker Johnny McDaid, also discussed how her daughter is coping post divorce.
She added: ''Obviously, kids always want their parents to be together. But as divorces go, this is the best one we could provide.''
Meanwhile, David Arquette is set to become a dad for the second time with current girlfriend Christina McLarty. The Hollywood actor previously revealed how he is looking forward to spend some time with Coco on the set of his show, Cleaners, before the new arrival.

''Whenever you get to do that you have to take them out of school for a few days, but it's such a great bonding experience because she gets to see what we do on the set,” he reportedly confessed. “It'll be a really good time.''
