With the 2014 Oscars on the horizon, all eyes will be on the red carpet come March 2 when the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett and Sandra Bullock will be pulling out all the stops in gorgeous couture and designer dresses. But who gets our vote for the best ever best dressed?
There's been some major fashion moments at the Academy Awards over the years and in amongst the style mishaps have been some iconic gowns.
Back in 1999 Gwyneth Paltrow wowed in a pink taffeta Ralph Lauren dress for what turned out to be an award-winning evening. She may have threatened to ruin the baby pink gown with her floods of tears but who can forget the moment she graced the stage for her Best Actress Oscar for Shakespeare In Love in that dress.
Fast forward to 2005 and with Jay-Z by her side, Beyonce had everyone talking with her oh-so-chic black velvet Versace “Siren” gown. With her half up, half down do and some statement jewels it was all eyes were on Queen B.
Will Jennifer Lawrence have another Dior moment in 2014? (WENN)
Hillary Swank was another big talking point in 2005 thanks to her navy Guy Laroche gown. From the front the dress threatened to be a bit of a bore until she turned to reveal the low cut back. Simply stunning.
Sandra Bullock is one to watch at this year's ceremony thanks to her raved about performance in Gravity. Fingers crossed she'll wow like she did in 2010 thanks to her silvery-gold beaded Marchesa gown, looking amazing as she took the Oscar for The Blind Side.
Then of course there's the golden girl of the Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence, who stunned in Dior last year and will no doubt step out again in another striking dress from the design house this year.
