Church leaders in New Zealand are hoping that they will be able to bible bash a broadcaster into not showing a controversial episode of the animated series �South Park�.

The episode causing all the strife in entitled �Bloody Mary� and according to the BBC depicts a bleeding statue of the Virgin Mary.

The Catholics in New Zealand have become so enraged when they heard that channel C4 was planning on showing the programme that they are urging a total boycott of the channel.

However, C4 is now planning on showing the episode three months earlier then planned to the response and outcry.

The head of TV Works that controls C4 said that is Catholics felt they would be upset by the �South Park� episode then they should not watch it.

The same channel came under fire recently for showing the Danish cartoons that caused such ructions in the Muslim community; they have since apologised for their actions.

Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark said that the programme sounded �revolting� but admitted that the channel was free to broadcast the show.
