Demi Lovato is reportedly planning to leave the X Factor USA after the current series ends this week, with a plan to concentrate on her musical output in 2014.
The Skyscraper singer is preparing for the final of the 2013 series which kicks off tonight, but according to insiders this could be her last time sitting next to Simon Cowell at that judges table.
"She plans to spend next year completely focused on her music," a source close to the star has told People.com, adding: "She had a great run and a good time".
The singer will headline her first arena tour from February next year, and it's thought her amped up music schedule could conflict with a third season on the show. Demi herself hinted at her changing priorities, telling People Magazine last month:
"I think ultimately my main thing is singing. Maybe movies once in a while, if the right role comes along." She added that she also wouldn't mind a bit of a break. "I will take the month of January completely off!" she vowed. "I want to vacation! I want to watch crime shows on my DVR on my couch ... I need to do some exercising and I don't really have time to do it. I love horseback riding and never get to do that stuff, but January is my time to do all of that."

With the rumoured departure of Simon's banter buddy could the X Factor USA be in trouble? Not according to Mr Cowell who reckons the show will be back:
"I think the show will be coming back next year," Cowell revealed in a conference call, reports Digital Spy. "As to my role on it, I might have a different kind of role, we haven't discussed that yet."
Even though the show's third season hasn't done well in viewing figures, the music mogul believes the music competition has a purpose when it comes down to finding stars.
He added: "I think the show started off okay; I thought the four-chair challenge was terrific and the early live shows were okay and the last two weeks have been amazing.
"As a series, particularly because of the talent, because of what Alex & Sierra have achieved on iTunes over the last couple of weeks, is phenomenal. I'm really happy that the show has achieved what it sets out to achieve, which is to find a star."
