Ariana Grande has become a beloved children's TV star thanks to her role in popular Nickelodeon show Sam & Cat, however the singer admits that she had no interest in acting in the past and only auditioned for the character to launch her music career.
The 'Right There' singer currently stars as Cat Valentine alongside her BFF Jennette McCurdy as Sam Puckett in their own Nickolodeon spin-off, catapulting them to fame and allowing Ariana pursue her number one passion, music. But it still may come as a surprise to some that the 20-year-old isn't as passionate about acting as she is singing and plans to turn her back on TV roles to focus on her future in music.

“I never liked acting. I auditioned for TV just to get a platform to get a record deal and then I fell in love with acting because it was fun,” Ariana admitted in an interview with Complex magazine.
“After I'm done playing Cat Valentine I don't see myself doing much acting, but I would do a scary movie or a musical.”
With a stellar career like hers so far, it's hardly surprising Ariana is keen to continue pushing her music. 'The Way' singer released her debut album 'Yours Truly' in September and became the 15th female solo artist in US history to score a number one on the Billboard charts with their first album.
The record has spawned a few hit singles and also contributed to Ariana scooping the Best New Artist gong at the American Music Awards. Ariana, who is happily dating The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes, has been busy over the last few weeks performing at a number of jingle ball events where she has been belting out album tracks in addition to songs from her first ever festive EP, 'Christmas Kisses.'
