Madonna has been named the highest earning female musician yet again after amassing a staggering $125 million in the year between June 2012 and 2013 blowing her nearest rivals out of the water by a mile!
According to Forbes who compile the annual list, the ‘Like A Virgin’ legend remains at the top of her game after a phenomenal 31 year long career despite not releasing any new music. However her humungous takings have unsurprisingly come from the tail end of her MDNA world tour, Material Girl clothing line and lucrative fragrances.

Arch rival Lady Gaga pailed in comparison with a mere $80 million, which is just pocket money for her Madgesty, after her Born This Way Ball abruptly ended as Mother Monster broke her hip earlier this year.
Taylor Swift and Beyonce who both embarked on massively successful tours this year followed with $55 million and $53 million respectively while Jennifer Lopez rounded off the top five.
Speaking of Madge’s successful 12 months, Entertainment attorney Lori Landew of Fox Rothschild explained: "She has global hits and they span decades and genres and generations. Madonna draws her audiences from so many pools and she has connected to so many people through her music that it should be no surprise that her tours are so successful.”
