Christina Applegate has revived her role as Veronica Corningstone for the Anchorman sequel, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The actress looked stunning as she hit the red carpet in London last night wearing a cream lace gown and nude accessories.
The actress, who plays anchorwoman Veronica Corningstone, definitely looked newsworthy as she attended the UK premiere in London last night. Wearing an Emilio Pucci dress, the American looked the epitome of Hollywood glamour in the soft hued full length gown which was covered in a lace overlay.

Given that the sequel is set in the 1980s, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Christina might channel the fashion from the era, but with her classic gown and '60s inspired make up, it appears that Christina wasn't feeling the movie's beauty choices. With a very bold eyeliner look and big lashes, the 48-year-old went for cat eyes and a retro look with her eye make up. Following this theme, she opted for nude lips and peach blush which complemented the creamy pink colour of the dress.
Christina's hair was no exception either, with a '60s style up do and lots of volume at the crown to create a messy chignon. Large glitzy hoop earrings added a touch of festive sparkle to the outfit. Is it just us or do they look a bit like Christmas wreaths?

Ms Applegate gave her other accessories plenty of thought too, even her nail varnish was expertly chosen. The dark brown polish and short manicure went perfectly with the dress and matched the cold wintery weather in Leicester Square last night. The actress wisely chose a boxy cream clutch bag and gold jewellery to finish the off the glamorous look.

The figure hugging dress showed off Christina's amazing body and provided some much needed femininity in such a male dominated film. The main body of the cast is men which features the likes of talented comedians; Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner. Christina gives the boys a run for their money as the fiesty anchorwoman, and lead character Ron Burgundy's girlfriend, Veronica Corningstone.
