The X Factor USA 2013: Alex And Sierra Confirm 'Double Elimination'

The cute couple are hoping that they don't get voted off this week

Following on from last week's triple elimination on the X Factor USA, couple Alex and Sierra have confirmed that this week will feature a double elimination.

Taking to Twitter to share the news with their fans and followers, the cute couple who made it through to the live finals as a result of their impressive talent and their "chemistry", posted on the social networking site:

As well as tweeting about the elimination, the couple also took time to thank their friends and family for support during their time on the show.

They tweeted: "Just wanted to thank all of our friends, family, and new friends (our twitter babies) for all of the love and support you give us daily. <3."

With a double elimination ahead of them, Alex and Sierra are hoping that they don't have a repeat of what happened during the results show last week when they were the last to find out that they were safe.

With a glitch in the voting system resulting in no one being sent home a couple of weeks ago, last week's show saw three acts go home with Carlos Guevara being the first to leave on Wednesday night's show.

Sweet Suspense's time on the show came as X Factor host Mario Lopez announced that an act would be sent home after the finalists performed together on the stage. Based on the votes that were collected from viewers of the show, Mario revealed: "The act leaving the competition right now is… Sweet Suspense."

Shock was clear to see on the face of Simon Cowell who mentored them. Of the result, Simon, who had flirted with Lillie McCloud the night before, commented: "I can't believe it. I thought they were fantastic last night. Look, girls it was not your fault. I don't know what happened here. Without being rude there were worse people than you last night."

With Sweet Suspense out of the competition, it was then down to Mario to reveal who was safe and as the names of the acts were read out, Khaya Cohen, Alex and Sierra and Rachel Potter were left wondering which one had made it through.

After a few seconds - which probably felt like hours for the acts - Mario confirmed that Alex and Sierra had made it through leaving Rachel and Khaya to sing once more in the hope that the judges choose to save them.
