After years of friendship, manbands McFly and Busted are finally joining forces and will tour as supergroup McBusted in April 2014. However, Busted's Charlie Simpson won't be joining Matt Willis, James Bourne, Dougie Poynter, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Harry Judd for the string of concerts but has wished them all the best on the latest venture.
The new band held a press conference hosted by Matt's wife Emma Willis at London's Soho Hotel, where they confirmed the news and revealed the 2014 tour plans.

McFly and Busted have been pals for years and are no strangers to sharing a stage. Just last year, the remaining two members of Busted joined the McFly lads at their tenth anniversary Royal Albert Hall gigs to perfom 'Year 3000', 'Air Hostess' and 'Shine A Light'.
Following this morning's annoucement, the new band have already created a Twitter account, which at present boasts 25k followers, where they're sharing updates with eager fans. "The rumours are true... #McBusted," wrote the lads, attaching a snap of themselves at the press conference.
McBusted will make their first official performance during this Friday's BBC Children In Need telethon and an excited Tom Fletcher clearly can't wait to get started on the new project. "Yep, it’s official, @McBusted Tour 2014!!!!!!!!!!" he tweeted.
While McFly have remained active, Busted split back in 2005 shortly after Charlie Simpson quit the band. Since then Matt Willis has had his own brief solo career and appeared in West End shows while James Bourne has worked on a number of smaller projects.

Last Friday, Charlie took to Twitter to confirm he wasn't part of any shared plans, choosing to focus on solo projects instead. Today, he followed his comments with good wishes for his former band mates, writing: "Just wanted to say that though I am not joining @mattjwillis and @JamesBourne on their new venture, I wish them all the very best with it."
The choice of press conference venue was picked up on by Matt, who remembered that the London hotel was the location for the formal annoucement of Busted's split. "It's good to be here for something positive," he said. "Last time was quite depressing, so at least this time it's quite cheerful!"
McFly have been busy lately and as well as confirming they're working on an album for spring 2014, vocalist Tom will also become a father when wife Giovanni gives birth next year. Their latest single 'Love Is On The Radio' will be released on November 24 and the band even squeezed in time to write a track for One Direction's 'Midnight Memories'.
Busted and McFly have been friends for years and McFly's Tom even auditioned to be in Busted over a decade ago. Their headline tour will commence in April and includes gigs at London's O2 Arena and the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
