Rihanna Fears Chris Brown Is ‘Self-Destructing’ After His Arrest For Alleged Assault

But sources said the pop star is glad not to be involved in his latest drama

After Chris Brown’s arrest yesterday for alleged assault, Rihanna has reportedly told friends she is glad not to be involved.

The pop star, who famously was on the receiving end of Brown’s temper, has allegedly told pals she believes he is self-destructing, but it’s not her problem any more.

Brown, 24, was arrested in Washington D.C. in the early hours of Sunday morning after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel in the city.

His bodyguard was also arrested after the incident in which Brown reportedly “punched a man in the face”, according to TMZ.com.

And a source close to Rihanna told HollywoodLife.com the pop star is pleased not to be “part of the foolishness”.

They said: “Once again she’s relieved she’s not involved. She’s given up on all that drama and is so happy she’s not part of the foolishness.”.

But the insider added that RiRi thinks Brown is heading for self-destruction and added: “She doesn’t want to see him without his freedom. She hates to see people who are self-destructive but it looks like that is the case.”

Brown is being held in custody until he appears in court on October 28.

According to reports, his alleged victim is claiming Brown shouted a gay slur at him and then punched him, breaking his nose.

But Brown’s people said the singer didn’t punch anyone and him and his team were just defending themselves after the alleged victim and his friends tried to force their way onto Chris’ tour bus.

Brown was arrested for felony assault, according to TMZ, and if charged, he could face a four-year prison sentence.

The chart star, who was hosting a party at the city’s Park and 14th club earlier in the evening, is still on parole for assaulting Rihanna back in 2009.
