'I Feel A Pang Of Regret': David Beckham Talks Leaving Football And His Kids

The sportsman has a lot of guilt inside

David Beckham feels so guilty that he spends a lot of time away from his children that makes an effort to cook when he’s home.

The footballer took a six-month course at a professional cookery school while playing in Milan, Italy and loves to make risotto.

The 38-year-old told The Times Magazine that catching soccer matches also stir feelings of guilt for him.

“I’ve been away such a lot in my career, I feel that when I am with them I should do everything possible,” he said.

“I feel a pang of regret whenever I watch sport; the sense that I will never play a big match again. I guess those feelings are inevitable when you have just retired from sport.”

David now spends his time doing the school run with his three sons and a daughter while his former Spice Girls wife, Victoria, works as a fashion designer.

His former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, claimed in his new autobiography that David got distracted from the game when he met Victoria.

The ex Manchester United boss insisted that he wasted his career by joining LA Galaxy in 2007 from Real Madrid, which he went to in 2003.

“Whenever I go out people try to take pictures. I am not complaining, because it is a huge privilege to be famous and have a platform to do things that I believe in. But it can be surreal,” David admitted.
