OneRepublic have reclaimed the UK number one with their smash hit single Counting Stars, which beat the likes of Miley Cyrus and Lawson for this week's top spot.
The US band previously scored a number one with the single two weeks ago before slipping back down the charts. This week they climbed two spots to reclaim their title though with Ryan Tedder excitedly telling The Official Charts Company. "I've had a number of number ones with other artists, but never one with this band."
"This is where I spend most of my time, these guys [guitarists Zach Filkins and Drew Brown, bassist Brent Kutzle and drummer Eddie Fisher] are like my brothers and we've been everywhere and back. This is the highlight of the year!"
Tedder, a Grammy award winning songwriter, and his band managed to beat last week's chart-topper Miley Cyrus who slipped to two with her power ballad Wrecking Ball.
Lawson meanwhile entered the chart at number three with Juliet, their fifth Top 10 hit. James Blunt climbed two places to four with his new offering Bonfire Heart whilst Eminem's hit Rap God rounded out the top five.
Justin Bieber followed last week's Top 20 hit Heartbreaker with his new tune All That Matters landing at 20 whilst Cher scores her first Top 40 hit in nearly 12 years with I Hope You Find It, which entered at 25 following the music legend's X Factor performance last weekend.
