Liam Hemsworth's family are said to be "happy" he's finally split from fiancee Miley Cyrus after four years together. The couple confirmed earlier this month they are no longer an item, news that came as a relief to his family, a new report claims.
The couple, who met while working on 2009 movie The Last Song, confirmed they had split following months of rumours their romance was on the rocks. Since then a happy looking Liam has been spotted partying in New York and Las Vegas, something his family are reportedly happy to see.
''This is the happiest they've seen Liam in a long time and they are supporting the break up," a source told HollywoodLife.

Since the split the Hunger Games hunk has been spotted hanging out with elder brothers Chris and Luke. He accompanied his Thor brother to London and the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month while he promoted new movie Rush, while Cyrus dealt with the fallout from her controversial MTV VMAs performance.

The twerktastic performance which got everyone talking - for the wrong reasons - was reportedly one of the factors in their break up, with Hemsworth's conservative family unhappy with the raunchy performance.
At the time a source told HollywoodLife:“Liam’s family is very conservative, so she knows they won’t approve of her performance."
It's also been claimed they urged Liam to break with the star earlier this year.
A source told Us Weekly in May: “They want him to end the romance for good.”
With the insider going on to say that Liam was "pulling away” from Miley.

While Chris wouldn't comment on his brother's recent break up he did mention on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that he felt "lucky" to not have the kind of spotlight on his relationship as others in Hollywood, including his brother, do.
“I’m lucky. I’ve spoken to a few people about it. I don’t know that you can ever…It’s sort of is what it is," Chris said. "At times you’re a target and at times you’re not. If you have a film coming out or who you are dating and what have you… but um, we’ve been lucky, my wife and I."
"We kind of live a pretty simple boring kind of life. We’re not rolling out of clubs at 4 in the morning. Not to say that Liam is by the way…Well he has once or twice,” he joked.
