Benedict Cumberbatch, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts Clash In 'August: Osage County' Trailer Amid Poor Reviews (WATCH)

Abigail Breslin is apparently being pushed towards award season with new movie

An all-star cast including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Benedict Cumberbatch are seen struggling to see eye-to-eye in the latest trailer for August: Osage County, which has just been released.

The ensemble drama, based on Tracy Lett's Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name, sees a group of relatives returning to Oklahoma for a funeral.

Ewan McGregor, Abigail Breslin, Margo Martindale, Dermot Mulroney, Chris Cooper, Juliette Lewis and Sam Shepard also star.

The film has been screened as part of the Toronto International Film Festival, but bosses are reportedly planning on re-cutting the ending so it is more in line with the original stage show.

Unfortunately the flick has been picking up disappointing reviews, with The Guardian giving it only two stars out of five - arguing that the adaptation from stage to screen is "respectful to a fault, retaining lines that feel redundant".

Earlier this year it was reported that Breslin, now 17, was contractually promised up to a $100,000 boost on her payday, depending on her success with nominations at the 2014 awards season.

She'll apparently net $50,000 for a Golden Globe or an Oscar, following her previous Best Supporting Actress nod for Little Miss Sunshine.

The movie is out on limited release on December 26 in the UK.
