Sam Bailey blew the viewers and the judges away with her audition on the X Factor over the weekend.
Having introduced herself as a mum and prison officer, the talented singer left Nicole Scherzinger and co in shock when she showed off her amazing vocal ability and since then, has become one singer to watch in the process.
However, it could have all been so different for Sam after she revealed to EntertainmentWise that she was going to audition to The Voice, if the audition wasn't on the same day as the X Factor arena auditions which she had been called back to.
Sam has revealed that she was going to audition for The Voice (WENN / ITV)
Recalling what happened, Sam - who impressed with Beyonce's Listen on Saturday's show - said: "Loads of people said to me about The Voice because I don't look the part but I've got this voice and I sing.
"But I actually had an audition for The Voice but I never went because it was the same weekend as the audition for the arena one that I had done so I had already got through to the arena. So I never went to the (Voice) audition."
Going on to explain her reason in detail, Sam added:
"To me, I've not got used to The Voice because I've been working shifts and I've never really watched it. But the X Factor, we've always watched it as a family so it was the X Factor that I really wanted to go to, not any other reason. I'm a huge fan of Jessie J's."
She then went on to admit that she wants to meet Black Eyed Peas' frontman will.i.am "one day".
