Lamar Odom has reportedly called in the big legal guns to fight his DUI charges, following his arrest last Friday (Aug 30) and has hired OJ Simpson's lawyer Robert Shapiro to fight his case, according to a new report.
The NBA star was pulled over by police on Friday for driving too slowly on the freeway in the San Fernado Valley, TMZ reported. Police believed the 33 year-old was under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time and was arrested and had his licence revoked after refusing chemical testing.
Shapiro has close links with the Kardashian clan and represented OJ Simpson in the 1994 murder trial over the death of Kris Jenner's best friend Nicole Brown Simpson, alongside her ex-husband Robert Kardashian.
Kris has previously turned to Shapiro in the past and recently helped her son, Robert Kardashian Jr get off criminal battery and theft case following an altercation with a photographer.

According to TMZ, Odom will automatically get his driver's licence revoked for one year as he refused to submit a blood-alcohol test. If he pleads no contest to the DUI charge, he'll reportedly most likely get probation and have to attend alcohol education classes.
Odom's arrest comes amid on going speculation about the state of his marriage to Khloe Kardashian following claims Lamar has cheated on his wife of three and a half years with two women as well as claims he's currently battling a drug addiction.

Despite sources claiming Khloe's family are keen for her to leave Lamar it looks as if they're very much still involved, if the appointment of the lawyer is correct.
A source told the New York Daily News over the weekend that Khloe's sisters were urging her to end her marriage.
"Kim, Kourtney and Kris want her to dump him. You can't live with a drug addict," a source reportedly said. "She is in love and does not want a divorce."
