Justin Timberlake To Join Ben Affleck In New Batman Movie? 'I Want To Play The Riddler'

JT is keen to move back into movies after his triumphant return to music

Justin Timberlake may have only just made his return to music after a seven year hiatus but it sounds like the VMAs winner is keen to get back to movies, as he reveals he would love to star alongside Ben Affleck in the new Batman film.

The Take Back The Night singer says he'd love to reunite with Ben, his co-star in the forthcoming crime thriller Runner Runner. JT reckons he would be the ideal addition to the new Superman Vs Batman film from Zack Snyder.

But don't expect Justin to play Batman's loyal sidekick Robin:

"Not a chance in hell. I ain't playing Robin. I have no aspiration to ever be a superhero in a movie," he told Fresh 102.7's Jim & Kim show. "Now, a villain! I'll tell you the villain I want to play more than anything because I grew up loving Batman, funnily enough, is The Riddler."

JT went on to gush about the character previously played on screen by Jim Carrey:

"The Riddler is my favourite villain. The Riddler was like a sociopath. He was proper crazy. So if I'm gonna play crazy, I'm wanna play proper crazy."

Justin also took the opportunity to voice his support for his buddy Affleck, who has come under fire from fans since his casting was announced last week.

"Ben Affleck as Batman, I like it," Timberlake said. "I worked with Ben last summer and I've seen his process. I think he's a brilliant filmmaker. I think he's an extreme talent so he could surprise a lot of people."

Justin is just one of many celebs who have come out to back Ben, with Michael Keaton adding his support this week: “He's gonna be great. He's gonna be great!” the former Batman told TMZ.

The veteran actor enjoyed two Tim Burton directed outings as the superhero, pitting himself against Jack Nicholson's Joker in 1989 hit Batman and Danny DeVito's calculating Penguin in 1992 sequel Batman Returns.

Speaking of the flack Ben has received since his appointment was confirmed, Keaton added: “No, not flack – he's been getting a** flack.”
