Having admitted that the future of the show was uncertain in the days that followed Cory's death last month, Ryan Murphy later revealed that the show would continue and the day for the cameras to begin rolling for season five came yesterday.

Claiming that the atmosphere was "emotional", a source told E! News: "Today was first day back.

"Last week was rehearsals but today was first official day of production on new season. Everything went as well as it could have. Very emotional but everyone is starting to move forward. Getting back on track."

Meanwhile, Lea, who only recently broke her silence over the death of her on and off screen boyfriend, took to Twitter to tweet about a song that she had recorded. Branding the song choice as "beautiful" and " perfect", the actress who plays the role of Rachel Berry added:

"Couldn't have picked a more beautiful & perfect song to start the year with..🎶"

Remembering Cory as the cast got back to work, Brad Falchuk poignantly tweeted a picture of the glee room filled with empty chairs with the caption:

As the cast get back to work, it has been confirmed that Cory's death will be addressed in the show. Revealing how Cory's character Finn will be written out of the show, E! News reported the chairman of entertainment at FOX, Kevin Reilly saying:

"The third episode will write Finn out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory's passing and the drug abuse in particular."
