Yeezus hitmaker Kanye West has been announced as the latest performer to be added to the line-up for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, joining Lady Gaga who has already been confirmed to appear.
The 'New Slaves' rapper will be hitting the stage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on August 25 to perform his latest single 'Black Skinhead,' lifted from his smash hit chart-topping album 'Yeezus,' which was released in June.

Showing their sense of humour, MTV announced the news on Instagram along with a photo of the moon man award, a copy of the 'Yeezus' album and a few croissants in reference to the hilarious line on one of the record's tracks, along with the caption: “BREAKING! Kanye West to perform at the 2013 #VMAs 8/25 at @barclayscenter! Don't worry Ye, we got your damn croissants. #RoadToTheVMAs.”
Kanye has previously performed at the VMAs a record six times including his 2011 appearance with Jay-Z where they performed 'Otis' and of course, there's the embarrassing 2009 incident where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to declare that Beyonce actually had the “best music video of all time.”
