The White Stripes have been forced to axe their Japanese tour dates after Jack was struck down with a serious vocal chord problem.
In fact doctors have deemed the injury so serious that theyve ordered him not to speak or sing for two weeks.
The duo were due to start their brief four night stint on January 12, but are now expected to reschedule the dates.
Their appearance at the Big Day Out in Australia is tentatively set to go ahead.
The band said in a statement: We sincerely apologise to our Japanese fans and friends and hope to reschedule dates as soon as we can.
For our friend in New Zealand and Australia, the band looks forward to seeing you at the big day out.
