Katy Perry has revealed that she won't be changing careers anytime soon, despite taking on the role as Smurfette in The Smurfs films for a second time.
The chart-topper reckons acting is much harder than making music, insisting the long hours on set instantly put her off!
Katy reprises her role as Smurfette in the soon to be released The Smurfs 2, and whilst the role just required her to lend her voice, she reckons it's still a tough job.
"It's definitely a lot of effort to be an actor, and it's not something just anyone can roll into," she tells Radar Magazine. "I think you get a lot of people thinking, 'If I can act, I can sing; if I can sing, I can act', and it's just not true."

The star adds that she'd have to get used to the early call times and lack of sleep if she did continue to pursue acting:
"I think that it's actually harder and it takes more time than a music career. You wake up at four or five am. That's commitment! If the movie would start filming at 11am then I would do it," she joked.
The 28-year-old, who is currently working on her third studio album, revealed that music will always be her main focus as it "defines" her. "I have it inside me and I'll never lose it," she insisted.

Whilst Katy might be putting her acting career on hold, her role in The Smurfs 2 did allow her to come face to face with one of her idols! At yesterday's premiere for the film in California, Katy met up with Britney Spears who has penned a song for the film.
The pop princesses found time for a hug on the blue carpet with both singers later posting a pic to their twitter accounts. Katy summed up her love for Britney by captioning her photo: "OMG!!!!! I CAN'T IM CRYING" Brit meanwhile remained slightly more restrained by tweeting her new BFF: "So great to see you Smurfette @katyperry! Can't wait for our Vegas date.."
The Smurfs 2 arrives in cinemas worldwide on July 31.
