Lea Michele Brings Glee Cast Together To Honour Cory Monteith With 'Emotional Celebration'

Following Cory's tragic death earlier this month

Lea Michele, Glee creator Ryan Murphy and the cast of the hit show came together yesterday to attend a memorial service to pay their respects and to honour Cory Monteith who sadly passed away on July 13.

Confirming that the actress, who hasn't been seen out in public since the tragic news broke, rallied everyone together with the help of Ryan, to celebrate Cory's life with music and memories, The Hollywood Reporter quoted 20th Century Fox Television saying in a statement:

"Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of the life of Cory Monteith.

"We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult time."

With the cast coming together to honour Cory's life, Ryan recently revealed his plans to honour the late actor who played the role of Finn Hudson in the hit show, with a special tribute episode.

The creator said: "The right thing to do for the show, at least at this point, is to have that character pass.

When we do the tribute episode to that character, we'll have to do it in a way where the cast members will not have to re-create feelings of grief that they’ve had this week -- but do it in an upbeat way.

"If we can do this responsibly and help young people through these feelings, that’s the best that we can hope for."

Upon hearing the news of Cory's death earlier this month, Cory's Glee co-stars and celebrities took to their Twitter page to pay their respects. Mark Salling who plays Puck, tweeted the word: "no". Expressing her grief on the social networking site, actress Dot Marie Jones posted:

"I HAVE NO WORDS! MY HEART IS BROKEN CORY WAS NOT ONLY A HELL OF A FRIEND HE WAS ONE AMAZING MEN THAT I WILL HOLD CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVER. I AM BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH! MY HEART IS WITH HID FAMILY AND OUR WHOLE GLEE FAMILY! I LOVE YOU ALL!"

Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian also took to Twitter to post: "Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith. So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying 4 Lea too! Words cant describe what they must be feeling."
