Pop diva Lady Gaga is set to make her first performance since having surgery on her hip, at the MTV Video Music Awards this August. The controversial singer will debut the first single from her highly anticipated album ARTPOP which is due for release in November.
The Poker Face hitmaker who was recently titled the top-earning musician under 30 by Forbes with earnings of an estimated $80 million in the past year, was forced to end part of her world tour earlier this year to undergo surgery.
The 27-year-old singer caused outrage at the same awards show in 2010 where she donned a dress made out of raw meat to protest the U.S. military's "don't-ask-don't-tell" policy for gay service members. Wonder what she’ll do this year!

Earlier this week Gaga teased her fans with what they can expect from the album, she wrote on her LittleMonsters.com website this week: “ARTPOP as they pry the single from my bleeding fingers. its a scary thing to revisit those things underneath, the pain in your past.
“But all I found was raw passion. I thought I was destroyed inside. im just ready to fight. start the music.”
Her new single will be released on August 19 just before the VMA show on August 25.
