Writer Steven Moffat has excited fans by releasing the script that will be used in the audition process for finding the new Doctor Who when Matt Smith leaves at Christmas.
Moffat has revealed part of the script that Time Lord hopefuls will enact as they battle it out for the part of the Doctor during the auditions.
The current Doctor, Matt Smith will be leaving the sci-fi series after the Christmas special and fans are now given a glimpse into the workings of the show.
The script shows the Doctor getting to grips with his new features after his regeneration.
Moffat made it clear that the scene was only made for the audition process and will never actually appear in the show.
Metro reported Moffat commenting on the the script that was revealed in the newest edition of the Doctor Who magazine, as he stated: “I had to make up some scenes for the auditions, 'cause I haven't written the real script yet”.
Going on to say: “So here, in an exclusive, as a big old tease, is one of the imaginary scenes I wrote. Couple of things. Nothing to glean about what's coming in the stories- this scene will never appear in the show itself”.

He went on to say that readers won't learn anything about who the new Doctor will be and that they should simply enjoy the extra special behind the scenes treat.
“Also, you'll learn very little about Number 12- naturally, this was written before the casting began”, he said, “Fairly generic Doctor stuff, for someone to spin into a new version of the Time Lord.
“So, with the proviso that there's nothing to learn here (won't stop you trying, I know) here is- sort of, kind of, not really- the first scene for Number 12”.
With Matt Smith leaving there is a huge amount of speculation as to who will replace him. John Barrowman and Dame Helen Mirren have championed a female but replacement, but with Dominic Cooper, Idris Elba and David Harewood all rumoured the debate looks set to continue.
The new Time Lord is thought to be being announced in August or September before they make their appearance in the Christmas special.
