Phil Collins Plans To Sell Parr Street Studios

Phil Collins and some of his former Genesis band mates have angered the music world after it was reported they plan to build flats on the site of Liverpool�s famous Parr Street Studios.

Reports claim that the studios that have attracted acts such as Coldplay, New Order, Embrace, The Charlatans and Pulp in recent years will face closure if planning permission is approved.

Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks stand to make millions if they manage to sell the lucrative studios that they own.

Coldplay producer Ken Nelson told The Times that if the studios were turned into flats it would be a serious loss to the city.

He said: �To lose the studios would be a great shame. I have encouraged bands that I have worked with to come to Liverpool to record at Parr Street, people like Coldplay, Feeder and Embrace.

�If the studios close then these great artists and others will have no reason to come to the city to record.�
