'I'm Going To Marry My Best Friend': Glee's Matthew Morrison Confirms Engagement To Girlfriend

The announcement was made at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball

Fans of Glee will know that Mr Schuester finally got married to Emma Pillsbury, but the actor who plays him - Matthew Morrison - will be doing it for real soon following the announcement that he is engaged to his girlfriend.

However the announcement that Matthew will be making Renee Puente.his wife, wasn't made by the actor, instead it was done by Elton John at his annual White Tie and Tiara Ball in London.

Whilst it is unknown as to exactly how the announcement was made, a source told E! News:

"They are thrilled. It is the first marriage for them both. He loves her so much. The theme of the night was love, which is so appropriate."

It is thought that the couple were then treated to a duet from Elton and Coldplay's Chris Martin who performed Your Song.

Taking to Twitter, Matthew posted: "An incredible night of LOVE @ejaf Ball. I'm going to marry my best friend! Happy day for me and @Renee_Puente."

Congratulations to the happy couple! (WENN)

Matthew and Renee's engagement comes after the actor recently revealed that he would like to get married and have kids. According to the Mail Online, he said: "I hope so, then maybe working on kids. Who knows? I've always wanted to have children, but when the holidays are here and I'm around kids more, I'm like, do I really want a kid?

"It's great to be able to enjoy them and then I'm like, okay, bye! Although when I'm 80 years old, I'm going to want kids and grandkids. That would be awesome."

The star also admitted that he loves nothing more than staying at home and cooking with Renee. He commented: "In a business sense, it's important to be seen at some of [the parties] and speak with people you could work with in the future. But I'd much rather be at home with Renee.

"We love to cook, there's something about preparing a meal where you get to enjoy your creations together."
