One Direction fans can breathe a sigh of relief following speculation that Harry Styles could be launching a solo career, as it has emerged that the song 'Don't Let Me Go' was recorded as a demo for a previous album that they decided not to use.

The five-piece boy band are currently working on their third album while on tour and it looks as though the boys have been working on individual songs as a track titled 'Don't Let Me Go' and reportedly recorded by Harry has found its way online and has fuelled ongoing rumours that the boy band could be going solo.

Fans haven't stopped worrying from fearing the band could be splitting, taking to Twitter to speculate. @1DKissYou believes the song is a sign that he wants to go it alone: “Why has he made his own song!? It clearly means he wants to go solo.”

@Zoe_Taylor1D may have taken it a little too seriously, writing: “I had a panic attack what if @Harry_Styles 's solo song means he is leaving?!? I seriously can't deal with that!!!!!”

@CarlosSmith doesn't appear to be a huge fan, tweeting: “This 'Harry Styles solo song's all a bit Ronan Keating.”

Fear not though One Directioners as a rep has told EntertainmentWise that the song was recorded almost two years ago as a potential album track. "It's an old song from a year and a half ago and was a demo for a possible 1D album track," the spokesman told us.

Meanwhile, the 'Live While We're Young' singers had a busy day in Miami on Thursday with reports claiming they had been filming a music video while taking part in a photo shoot for their new fragrance.
