Two stars from the Discover Channel's hit show Storm Chasers have died in a tornado that killed nine people in El Reno, Oklahoma last week.
Carl Young and Tim Samaras, along with Tim's son Paul Samaras were among nine people killed on Friday as the tornado ripped through the US town. The sad news was confirmed by the Discovery Channel in a statement to E! News yesterday:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Tim Samaras his son Paul and their colleague Carl Young. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their families," the channel revealed.
"We will be dedicating our show tonight on the tornadoes to their memory (they aren't in the show, but that is their legacy). The card will read: In memory of Tim Samaras, Carl Young and Paul Samaras who died Friday, May 31st doing what they love, chasing storms," the channel added.

Samaras, 55, was a leading storm chaser and founder of the tornado research company, Twistex. His son Paul Samaras, who was 24, died alongside him along with Tim's Storm Chasers colleague Young, 45.
Tim Samaras’ brother, Jim also confirmed the news telling Reuters that his brother is "mostly going to be remembered as somebody who tried to help save lives."
Jim added that his brother had done a lot of research and innovative work with probes and other instruments placed in the path of twisters to gather integral data.
“He died doing what he loved and literally put his life on the line to save others,” he said.
