Little Britian And Extras Go Head To Head At Comedy Awards

BBC comedies �Little Britain� and �Extras� are to go head to head at this years British Comedy Awards.

Ricky Gervais� �Extras� has managed to line up five nominations for Best Comedy, New Comedy, TV Comedy Actor, Comedy Actress and Comedy Newcomer.

It will be up against Matt Lucas� and David Walliams� �Little Britain� for Best TV Comedy Actor for the second year running.

Last year Gervais� comedy show �The Office� was left in the dark as �Little Britain� triumphed.

Other nominations have gone to �The X Factor� is up for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme, against �Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway�.

At The 16th British Comedy Awards Victoria Wood and Julie Walters will receive a joint Outstanding Achievement Award for their work together over the past 25 years.
