Demi Lovato has opened up about her friendship with fellow star Selena Gomez, admitting that while they "grew apart," for a few years she's recently rekindled their close relationship.
The X Factor star, who is currently in the UK to promote her new album Demi, has been friends with the Spring Breakers babe since they were both child stars on the Disney channel, starring together in several movies including Princess Protection Program though as their careers took different paths drifted apart.
"We grew up together, we knew each other since we were 7 years old," she told Scott Mills during an interview at Radio 1.
"For a while we grew apart and went our separate ways like most people do when they have childhood friends, but recently I have come into contact with her again and I really miss her and wish I could see her."

While it's unclear what made the girls "grow apart," Demi hinted in a recent interview they'd managed to put it behind them.
"We've been through a lot together," she told MTV News earlier this month.
"We've had periods of times when we grew apart, and we just didn't really talk."
"But now we're in a place where we realise that life is so short, and that when you have people in your life that love you so much, then you should just always be around them."
Gushing about Gomez she went on: "And she's gonna be a big sister, and I want to be around for that! So everything about her—she has a great soul, she's talented, she's beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart."
