Kelly Rowland shocked fans during her performance in Washington on Sunday when she broke down in tears during her performance of new single 'Dirty Laundry,' in which the singer opens up about the abuse she suffered at the hands of an ex-boyfriend and also her rivalry with Beyonce.
The 'Kisses Down Low' singer kicked off her tour with The-Dream on Sunday evening at the Fillmore Silver Spring where she gave a stirring performance of the tell-all track, in which she details the torment she was put through by a former boyfriend and also the envy she felt watching Beyonce soar to success after the Destiny's Child split.
In footage filmed by fans at the concert, Kelly can be seen sitting on a stool belting out the song however, minutes later she bursts into tears when singing the line “turnin' me against my sister” in reference to Beyonce, putting her head in hands as she tries to compose herself.
Explaining her decision to candidly open up on her personal life, Kelly told the audience at the concert: “Doing this song for me was so therapeutic. Honesty, like my mama always says, is always the best policy.”

Lyrics in the ballad include: “While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf****r, I was enraged, feeling it like a motherf****r.

Meanwhile, this n***a putting his hands on me, I swear y’all don’t know the half of this industry.”
