Bieber manged to top the 66-year-old crooner due to a recent change to the US singles chart which now incorporates on-demand streaming numbers.

The teen heartthrob's song Baby, featuring rapper Ludacris, has now been certified the highest-earning single in history.
The record was helped by the song shifting a whoping 3.9 million copies in America as well as being over 858 million times on Vevo, making it now 12-times platinum.
Elton John's beloved classic is 11-times platinum, with the vast majority of its numbers coming from sales.
Maybe word is yet to reach the Boyfriend singer who hadn’t mentioned the good news on Twitter, instead the star, who is on a month-long break form his Believe tour has been busy catching on sleep as he tweeted this week: "I like to sleep. A lot."
