English Actress Sophia Myles Signs Up For Transformers 4

Actress' first major screen role since 2010

English actress Sophia Myles has reportedly joined the cast of big-budget sequel Transformers 4, her first high-profile screen role since Spooks in 2010.

The 33-year-old Londoner has also previously been seen in Underworld, Tristan + Isolde, Thunderbirds and Doctor Who.

According to The Wrap, she will play a fairly major scientist character in the new Michael Bay film, but details of her involvement are being kept under wraps.

The pic is due out on June 27, 2014, and has already tapped big names in Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammar, in favour of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon stars Shia LeBeouf and Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely.

The franchise is a huge draw at the box office, taking more than $2,600,000,000 globally between its first three films.

The 2007 debut took $710 million, the follow-up in 2009 boasted $836 million, and Dark Of The Moon claimed over $1 billion worldwide.

Critical responses, however, have been less than favouritable - with Dark Of The Moon holding only a 36% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
