Kristen Stewart Ditches Robert Pattinson As Met Costume Gala Date For New Red Carpet Pal

Star vamped it up in Stella McCartney jumpsuit

Kristen Stewart was slated to attend the Met Costume Gala with boyfriend Robert Pattinson, but despite speculation over the couple's appearance, the actress actually walked the red carpet with designer Stella McCartney and Cameron Diaz last night at the star studded event in New York.

The Twilight babe, whose boyfriend was also in the Big Apple, posed up a storm on the red carpet in a red jump suit designed by Stella, with matching vamp eye-make up which as one of the most famous blood suckers on the planet, we're sure she was comfortable in.

But one blood sucker who wasn't there was Rob, who despite sources claiming his girlfriend wanted him there, stayed away.

“Kristen loves fashion and loves Rob,” a source told HollywoodLife. “She would love for Rob to attend the Met Gala with her in New York in May.”

The Cosmoplis star's decision to stay away appears a strange one, especially as BFF Tom Sturridge attended with his fiancee Sienna Miller, we're sure they could've had some fun together.

The On The Road star appeared to be ok without him though as she cuddled up to McCartney. Kristen, who wore Balenciaga last year, appears to have cut ties with the fashion house, stepping out instead with the British designer at the biggest night in fashion is a pretty clear cut sign her allegiance is waning.
