If you're going to sue a former lover who also happens to be an internationally famous pop star, make sure you check the small print first - something Shakira's ex has clearly failed to do.
Antonio de la Rua, who dated the Colombian singer for 11 years, is suing her for £65 million ($100 million), claiming that because he was her manager too, he is entitled to a big chunk of the money she made while they were together.
However, Shakira reportedly wants the lawsuit thrown out of court, because in legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, she was already a big star when they met.
In her filing, the 36-year-old said she let Antonio advise her on some business decisions but he was never her manager and they never signed anything legal stating that he was.

But what they did sign was an agreement in 2006, which made clear they would each keep their own assets if they split.
De la Rua filed a suit against her in New York this week claiming that as her manager during their 11-year courtship, he scored lucrative music deals for her so therefore he is owed a big chunk of her earnings.
He is also reportedly demanding that her bank accounts in Switzerland be frozen to prevent her from hiding her assets.
In the complaint, he said: "I have tried several times, both personally and through a lawyer, to solve this dispute in a friendly manner. At best, such attempts have met with silence, and at worst with hostility."

He added that Shakira "adopted a strategy of trying to re-write history, which includes denying the existence of such a partnership".
Shakira split from De la Rue in August 2010 but she had already met FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique a few months earlier when he appeared in the music video for Shakira's song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
On January 22nd this year, she gave birth to their first child, son Milan.
