Forgotten Him Already? Justin Bieber 'Fails To Check In On His Monkey Friend'

Pop star was distraught when Mally was taken from him but has not called welfare centre once

He was believed to have been left distraught and very angry when his pet monkey was snatched away from him as he tried to smuggle him into Germany - but it would seem that Justin Bieber isn't really that bothered what happens to his Simian mate after all.

Because according to reports, the pop star hasn't called the quarantine centre in Munich where he is being held to find out how he is doing, or even when they can be reunited.

Mally, the Ccapuchin monkey was taken from Bieber when the singer jetted into Munich on his private jet ahead of his concert in the city as part of his Believe world tour after he failed to provide officials with the necessary documents, including a health certificate so he could bring the pet into the country.

Mally was confiscated and taken into quarantine, fees for which Bieber will have to pay for, and the pop star was said to be distraught and angry that he had been separated from his new friend.

But it would seem he actually doesn't care that much because reports claim that neither he or anyone from his crew have called and checked on the welfare of his friend and has carried on his world tour regardless, while Mally sits all alone in an animal welfare centre in Munich - poor little fella!

According to The Sun, the shelter said they have given Bieber four weeks to come and collect Mally, but have not heard a peep from him, although thankfully, several German zoos have reportedly offered to give the monkey a home.

Officials at the shelter have also slammed the pop star and said that not only should he have not been given the monkey, but the 14-week-old monkey shouldn't have been separated from its mother.

And they said the poor little thing was feeling traumatised by the separation and the whole incident with Bieber.

Centre boss Karl Joachim told the newspaper that Mally had refused to eat and stared miserably into space when he first arrived, adding: "He was snatched from his mother when he was around nine weeks old. That is much too early.

"He is clearly traumatised at being taken away from his family. We could not get him to eat until we gave him the cuddly toy he was clinging to when he was delivered to us. This obviously acts as a kind of surrogate parent. He keeps calling a lot for company - without his toy he won’t eat at all."

Austrian vet Kurt Grabenwoeger told the paper: "These monkeys not only need to be with their mothers for at least a year, but they should also be surrounded by their family group. They are living creatures - not celebrity accessories like a handbag.

"Imagine a human baby sent off on a world tour at 10 weeks - would anyone allow that?"

What do you think - should Bieber be forced to collect his pet, or do you think it was just another toy that he now discarded?
