Katy Perry may have just been through a painful breakup from John Mayer but ever the pro, the star plastered on a smile, donned her sexiest dress and spent time with her fellow single ladies at yesterday's Kids' Choice Awards.
Katy and John split just a few days ago but that didn't stop the star showing up for the annual Nickelodeon awards in California. And it paid off as Katy beat fellow John Mayer ex Taylor Swift to take home the Favourite Female Singer gong.
Also beating big names like Pink and Oscar winner Adele, Katy seemed ecstatic at her win, proclaiming "I love the kids," as she accepted her prize. "I think it's the coolest award" she added.
Dressed in her usual quirky style of a Herve Leger midriff baring crop top and high waisted skirt, Katy made it a girls night out at the awards as she sat with Justin Bieber's ex Selena Gomez and Kristen Stewart during the ceremony.

Katy and John's recent split follows a previous brief break up last August, but this time it sounds like things are permement with sources claiming the pair were "fighting pre-split."
Three days after Us Weekly broke the news that the showbiz couple had decided to call it a day, 'California Girl' Katy shared a sad love song with her millions of Twitter followers. "Perfectly put, by Tristan Prettyman," Perry wrote, sharing Prettyman's piano-driven breakup ballad "I Was Gonna Marry You."
However, according to multiple sources close to the couple, the split seemed inevitable. On top of many work commitments, Perry's third studio album, Mayer's upcoming tour dates, the on-and-off couple have been "fighting" recently, one source close to the rocker says. "Introducing her to his dad was a big deal," the Mayer source says. "It was just too much, too soon," another insider adds.
