McFly's Dougie Poynter has revealed that he's been busy writing songs with One Direction - but, while Harry Styles is probably the face most synonymous with the band, it turns out that it's Niall Horan who's most involved in the songwriting side.
McFly recently hit Belfast to work with One Direction on some new material and Dougie Poynter has revealed to BBC Newsbeat, perhaps surprisingly, that Niall Horan is the most involved in the studio.

"It hasn't got a title at the moment but we wrote the song with Niall. He's got some good ideas so had a lot of input."
But Dougie then went on to explain that One Direction, while successful now, face some seriously big challenges ahead if they want to write their own music AND keep their own fanbase.
"They are smart guys. They know what they're doing. They play to arenas and stadiums around the world. So I think it's a bit of a challenge to come up with some songs to go with that."
We guess Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson will be relying on Niall Horan to do most of the penwork then! Could he be the Gary Barlow to their Take That? One thing's for sure, Niall definitely looks set to go onto great things in the future, with or without his bandmates in tow...
