Star of Stephenie Meyer's latest movie project The Host, Diane Kruger has admitted to being besieged by fans of The Twilight Saga, who showered her with gifts and even asked the German star out on a date!
The Host follows aliens who invade the bodies of humans, who find themselves forced to hide out in a cave, and looks set to be a success due to Meyer's loyal fanbase who took to the author after she published Twilight, later a hit movie franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Twi-hards seem to be transferring their attention to a new set of stars though as Kruger admitted she was asked out by an over enthusiastic fan. Female fans are already lusting over the latest Meyer movie heartthrob, Max Irons.

"Of course, I knew Twilight was big and all that, but we did a poster signing a couple of days ago here in Los Angeles and thousands of people showed up," Kruger told USA Today on the red carpet at the film's Hollywood premiere.
"I finally realised that this might be a different ball of wax. I got asked out on a date! I got gifts. It was kind of neat," the star, who's dating Joshua Jackson, added.
The affection came despite the Troy star playing an alien who hunts down and kills humans in the new movie, a villainous turn that makes Twilight's Volturi look like a friendly bunch.
As for Irons, he's inevitably found himself dubbed the new Robert Pattinson, after landing the role in Meyer's movie, he though thinks that The Host will give fans something different to the Twilight films, telling the paper: "I think Stephenie would admit that this is a change in direction for her, it exists by itself."
