Doing It For The Kids: Paloma Faith To Play War Child Gig

The songstress will perform an acoustic set for the international charity

It's a charity that is backed by many musicians who have played many a live gig to raise money for this special organisation - and now War Child have signed Paloma Faith up to their good cause.

The flame-haired singer is set to play a special acoustic show to raise money for the War Child charity next month.

She will play the first ever 'American Express Platinum Cashback Gig' at the iconic Union Chapel in Islington, London on Sunday 3 March at 7pm.

It's called 'cashback' because the gig also launches a brand new gig concept - all fans attending the gig will be reimbursed with the price of the £30 ticket in the form of a gift card which they can either keep or donate to War Child - and we hope that many people weill happily hand it over!

Paloma said she is planning to play a stripped back set which will include songs from her latest album Fall To Grace and she will be accompanied by a grand piano and a string quartet.

The gig comes in the middle of her Fall To Grace tour which is accompanying the album which won her two Brit Award nominations for British Female Solo Artist and British Album Of The Year.

She said: "I started out singing in cabaret clubs and believe there is no better way to connect with people through my music than performing live. War Child plays such an important role making a real difference in the world today so hopefully we can make a real difference.

War Child provides help and support to vulnerable children around the world who have been badly affected by the fall out of war and conflict.

Ben Knowles, Director of Fundraising at the charity said: "Music is crucial in helping War Child raise awareness of issues facing children in war and the money to do something about it. We are excited to be working with Paloma Faith and each £30 could help get one of the children we work with back to school for an entire year.

"That is a life-saving, life-changing impact - giving a child the hope and skills to build a better future for themselves. We’re looking forward to what promises to be a great night."

Tickets for the American Express Platinum Cashback Gig, which are subject to availability and limited to 4 per person, are now on sale via ticketmaster.co.uk/cashbackgig.
