Kris Jenner has hit back at her critics following claims that she exploits the Kardashian name and takes a healthy percentage of her daughters sizeable earnings.
The 57-year old TV personality has been attacked for allegedly claiming a healthy 10 percent slice of the fortune earned by daughters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian for their part in a string of reality TV shows, endorsements and personal appearances, as well as New York based fashion brand Dash.
In an interview with US Weekly, she admits to giving her daughters a gentle nudge towards the spotlight – but insists her famous family are happier for it.
“My girls are not pansies, but I think everyone needs direction,” she said.
Kris – who manages her daughters' business affairs – also revealed that the fine line between loving mother and no nonsense manager often gets blurred.
“One moment I'm talking to Khloe as her mom, suddenly, she'll turn around and say...'I'm your client, you didn't do this.' I get scolded or, you know, they're not happy about something and I have to fix it,” she said. “Although these are my daughters, they are also my clients and they need respect.”
The Kardashian matriarch went on to rubbish claims that her 22-year marriage to Bruce Jenner – who she married following the death of first husband Robert Kardashian in 1990 – was all for show, insisting she 'married the best guy.'
Kris wrapped up the interview by addressing another criticism - namely that she has intentionally 'sexualized' teenagers Kylie and Kendall Jenner - her two daughters with Bruce.
“It's good to see they can get on Good Morning America by themselves,” she said, adding that an early introduction to the world of showbiz was the best education the pair could hope for.
