Despite being widely reported to be in the final stages of discussions to take up a Las Vegas residency, Britney Spears has allegedly pulled out.
The star has apparently had a last-minute change of heart about accepting a $100 million deal to perform shows regularly at Caesar's Palace Colosseum.
Speaking to BuzzFeed, the PR director for the venue has apparently confirmed that they are not in talks with the 'Gimme More' hitmaker, who is currently working on her eighth studio album.
Emily Wofford said they are "engaged with a number of today's top artists in discussions regarding headling residencies at our venues in Las Vegas".
She also maintained that they are "always interested in having artists with the caliber of Britney Spears performing at our theatres."
However, it's still unclear as to whether Spears will accept a similar offer from another company.
A source told the site: "There was one definite offer for Britney in Las Vegas. A second one followed when the news broke."
A second source tells the site that, following Beyonce's lip synch controversy, bookers may be scared of enlisting someone with a famous habit for miming like Britney.
