Memorial Service To Be Held For Richard Whitely

A memorial service is to be held to celebrate the memory of the recently deceased Richard Whitely.

The service will be held at York Minster and will be attended by the Countdown host�s friends, family and TV colleagues.

Whitely died in June following a heart operation in Leeds, he was 61.

Whitely hosted the student�s favourite programme, �Countdown� for 23 years and became a cult figure.

He has been replaced by Des Lynam, but is of course, irreplaceable.

Admittance to the memorial service is by invitation only.
