Taylor Swift has flown into London this week reportedly for a showdown with her ex Harry Styles and she's come armed with gifts, apparently bringing with her tinned mandarins and golf clubs in a bid to win back her 1D beau, we decided to look back at Taylor's gift history. According to sources speaking to omg! Taylor has bought Harry his favourite childhood food (according to his dad) as a peace offering on her trip to the UK this week. The thoughtful present is a far cry from the extravagant gifts Taylor has lavished on Harry in the past- is the US star trying to change tact and go for sentiment over money?
When they were still together Taylor reportedly splashed out £50,000 on Beatles memorabilia for her very new boyfriend. The One Direction stud is reportedly a huge fan of the Scouse rockers and Swift was probably hoping he'd be pretty impressed with the rare gifts she picked out for Christmas.
A source reportedly told the Daily Star: “Harry spent £900 on Taylor for her recent birthday, and now she wants to repay the favour – and then some.”
“She’s been phoning Beatles stores in Liverpool hoping to find pieces of rare autographed memorabilia she knows Harry will love. A staff member at one store let slip she wanted to spend somewhere between £40,000 and £50,000.”
Whilst in the past Taylor has splashed the cash on gifts, Harry also seemed to go for the thoughtful gifts, apparently presenting his then girlfriend with 23 custom-made cupcakes for her 23rd birthday last year. The cakes cost a grand total of £38 and the singer made sure everything was kept hush hush, picking them up in person from a small cake shop in Warrington, Cheshire. A source told The Sun: “Harry put a lot of thought into her gifts and really wanted to show her just how special she is to him."
“The boys teased him about how mushy he’s become but he doesn’t seem to care.”
Harry also apparently organised a singing telegram for Taylor who sang a country version of the One Direction hit, 'What Makes You Beautiful.'
