Britney Spears' close friends are said to be worried that the singer is considering signing up to perform in Las Vegas for a one-year residency, believing that it could affect her mental health.
The 'Hold It Against Me' singer announced her departure from X Factor USA earlier this month after just a year of appearing as a judge on the show, with reports emerging shortly after that she was in talks to sign a $100 million deal with Ceasar's Palace in Vegas to perform a five-night residency, similar to Celine Dion, for up to a year.

While Britney was reported to be close to signing on the dotted line, the star's friends say it may not be the best idea for her to spend so much time away from home and her two young sons, fearing it could possibly lead to another mental breakdown.
“I'm not sure just how good an idea Vegas is for Britney right now. If she can't handle 'The X Factor' - how will she be able to perform five days a week in Vegas?” a source told Mail Online.
“She's a homebody, she loves her sons and has her daily routine. At this time, she may need to concentrate on her health and happiness - not rebuilding her career .”
In addition to quitting the X Factor, Britney, 31, split from her fiance Jason Trawick this month, and he was reported to have been her support system, but her friends worry how she will cope without having him present in her life.
“At auditions, Jason would calmly escort Britney by the hand back and forth to her seat during breaks. He was there for her,” the source continued.
If Britney accepts the Las Vegas residency, it is thought she will kick off her stint as soon as Spring.
A source told EntertainmentWise that fans shouldn't be concerned about Britney's health and confirmed she is yet to sign a deal in relation to a Vegas residency.
"She is fine and has loving family and friends around her. Nothing signed yet but there is a lot of interest in her in Vegas," the source told us.
